Richard Brzakala is responsible for providing leadership and global oversight of enterprise legal management strategies, alternative fee arrangements, and innovative law firm performance benchmarks. He developed and implemented an RFP proposal process, bid templates and tools used to conduct competitive bids and source legal work. He also developed and executed performance metrics to track and evaluate the qualitative and cost effectiveness and efficiency of law firms.

Richard is a market innovator in Legal and Global Project Management, Business Process Outsourcing and database analytics with a proven track record of managing law firm relationships, corporate legal spend, sourcing, compliance and achieving operational excellence, business process reengineering, technology innovation and creating cost savings.

Prior to joining CIBC, Richard managed external counsel at RBC for a decade where he pioneered innovative legal management practices, including the reengineering of legal RFP processes, RFP templates and the oversight of numerous competitive bids.
