Toota Hassanien is a community builder living in Toronto, passionate about furthering equity and creating access to opportunities for under-served communities. Toota currently works in McCarthy Tétrault’s Inclusion Now Office, supporting their leading inclusion, diversity, and corporate social responsibility efforts.
Previously, Toota was the Program Manager for CivicAction’s Emerging Leaders Network, where she worked to create cutting edge programming to amplify the capacity of diverse leaders across the GTHA, and was the a Program Lead for Success Beyond Limits, a highly impactful, hyper local initiative focused on supporting racialized youth.
Toota is a Tedx Toronto’s Speaker Coach, a former member of the Ontario Black Youth Action Plan Steering Committee, a volunteer with The Canadian Muslim Vote, MAX - Muslim Awards of Excellence and served on SpeakSudan’s Board of Directors. Given her investment in supporting underserved communities, Toota received Federal Minister Ahmed Hussein’s Community Leadership Award in 2018.
