Beard Winter LLP is seeking a Corporate Legal Assistant to provide administrative and legal support to two lawyers within our growing Corporate Law Department.
Qualifications:
- At least 4+ years of direct, relevant and practical experience in Corporate Law;
- general knowledge of applicable corporate statutes and regulations (CBCA, OBCA, PPSA, etc.);
- superior analytical and organizational abilities; attention to detail;
- the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities;
- is time conscious and deadline oriented;
- considers themselves a consummate professional who works well under pressure;
- proficient in MS Office;
- experience with corporate databases such as Corporate Manager;
- experience with Legal Kiosk or other electronic minute book database is an asset;
- experience with Docusign;
- has the ability to work independently & proactively with little supervision but appreciates the benefits of being part of a team.
Responsibilities would include, but not limited to:
- Handle all legal and administrative duties such as opening files, scheduling meetings, file organization, document management, accounts, etc.;
- Prepare routine correspondence including revision of documents, comparisons and track changes;
- Dealing with and responding to client inquiries and conducting follow up as required;
- Organizing, saving and compiling documents received from clients or third parties;
- Assist with transactional documents relating to corporate reorganizations, share/asset purchase and sale transactions and all administrative aspects of transactions and post-closing matters;
