Our firm continues to grow, so we are currently searching for a Law Clerk to join our Construction Group in our Toronto office.
The ideal candidates will have:
- Exceptional attention to detail and is adept at setting priorities
- Strong grammatical skills, including punctuation and proofreading
- Robust organizational and time management skills
- The aptitude to stay focused for long periods of time while dealing with high volumes of documents
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- The capability to be an energetic self-starter who initiates and anticipates needs
- A passion for providing superior client service
- The ability to creatively solve problems, make decisions, facilitate and manage deadlines
- The dexterity to remain calm under pressure
- The ability to work both independently and within a team
- The capacity to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
- The availability to work in the Toronto office a minimum of two (2) days per week
Responsibilities:
- E-discovery and related document management
- Review, process, analyze, summarize, tag documents for privilege, relevancy and duplication
- Importing and coding documents
- Creating cases in Eclipse and Relativity
- Prepare legal documents for questioning, motions, trials, appeals, arbitrations and mediations
- Conducting research
- Client communication
- Trial Assistance
Qualifications:
- A graduate from a recognized Law Clerk program
- In-depth knowledge of legal principles, practices and rules
- A minimum of five (5) years litigation experience, preferably in insurance defence and specifically construction law
- E-discovery specialist with a CEDS certification preferred
- Exceptional technical skills and demonstrated ability using Microsoft Office, Eclipse SE, Relativity, IManage and Elite 3E
