Building a Website from a Marketer's Perspective
Description
Whether you are a large full service firm or a small boutique, your website is the single most important extension of your marketing message. It is often the first--and sometimes the only--point of contact for new client interaction so having a strategically designed website is essential in today’s connected world.
During this session, Morgan MacLeod will outline best practices for developing a client-centric web presence, meaning a website that speaks both to current and potential clients, engages them in a meaningful conversation and invites them to make contact with the lawyers of your firm. Her talk will touch on several major milestones of web development including identifying business requirements, determining client expectations, how to best use colour and imagery to convey brand attributes, proper site structure and navigation, content development and a demystification of search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM). She will share insights on what to expect from lawyers during the process as well as share reasons why you can’t leave such a vital piece of your marketing strategy to your IT department or a committee of lawyers.
Morgan MacLeod, Partner at Cubicle Fugitive Inc. and
www.TorontoLawyers.ca, is a brand, marketing and web strategy specialist, with over twelve years’ experience helping several of the Canada’s largest companies build and manage their brands both online and off. At this session, she will share her experiences and let you know what is and is not important when building a website. Her company, Cubicle Fugitive, a full-service Professional Service Marketing Firm, has been helping clients (many of whom are TLOMA firms) define their brands, design their identities, develop their websites and market their firms since 2003.
