AODA - Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
Description
| The workshop is designed to provide participants the information they require in order to begin to plan for the implementation of Reg. 429/07.
The first half of the workshop will examine each of the requirements, highlighting what are considered specific requirements (a 'must do') and what are general requirements. During this time, participants will be provided with information and examples based on OPC's experiences with other firms, the work OPC is currently providing for some of our clients in the private sector as well as experience that has been gained having worked in particular with the public sector which, has already filed a report with the government.
Following this, the presenters will introduce a action plan and the participants will have an opportunity to break into groups so that they can begin to formulate an action plan. This part of the workshop will give everyone an opportunity to think about their organization - including size, resources and constraints within their organization which contributes to planning the implementation of the regulation.
Each participant will be provided with a small guide that will take them through the requirements in a very simplified manner.
